On March 23, Nitto Denko Corporation (Headquarters: Osaka; President, CEO & COO: Hideo Takasaki; “Nitto”, hereafter) hosted Mr. Hirofumi Hino, the Japanese representative of Clarivate Analytics (formerly Thomson Reuters Intellectual Property & Science), at their Ibaraki plant, headquarters of their research and development division, to hold the “2016 Top 100 Global Innovators” Awards Ceremony.
In January 2017, Nitto was selected by Clarivate Analytics (Headquarters: Philadelphia, USA; Japan office: Minato-ku, Tokyo) as one of the world’s most innovative corporations/research institutions for the sixth consecutive year. This year’s awards ceremony—the sixth such ceremony held for Nitto—took place at Nitto’s new “inovas” facility, which opened in 2016. The facility integrates research and development and human resource cultivation.
At the awards ceremony, Mr. Hino commented, “This award is granted to a select number of corporations and institutions around the world, not just based on mere applications, but to those companies that are engaged in intellectual property-related activities in sync with their greater business strategy. Despite being so difficult to win more than once, it is truly amazing that Nitto has won this award for six consecutive years. When we looked at inovas, we were impressed by the management and R&D strength behind Nitto’s impressive intellectual property credentials. Congratulations!”
