A Word of Thanks for your Support to the Nitto ATP Finals and Report on Nitto’s Charity Program

From November 12 (Sun.) - 19 (Sun.), NITTO DENKO CORPORATION (Headquarters: Osaka, Japan; President, CEO COO: Hideo Takasaki; hereafter “Nitto”) successfully ended its first year as the title sponsor of the Nitto ATP Finals, the season-ending finale of the ATP World Tour.
During the tournament, in addition to the many fans and Nitto employees who arrived to cheer on the athletes, on the 2 days of November 12 (Sun.) - 13 (Mon.) the company also invited young patients battling serious diseases from England’s most prominent children’s hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital, and the children’s cancer charity Clic Sargent. Together with the children's families and care staff, a total of 57 invitees were present to witness competition by the world’s best tennis players.
With Nitto’s overall concept for its sponsorship to “support those who challenge themselves”, we hoped that this extraordinary opportunity for an up-close view of tennis players challenging the title would bring smiles to the faces of the children and their families as they continue the fight against disease. For the guests to experience special moments, the invitation included seats where they could fully enjoy the match, as well as the chance to interact and receive inspiration from the Nitto ATP Finals athletes. The children also carried home special gifts, including premium Nitto Group products.
Far from the confines of the hospital, the children’s faces were lit up with broad smiles from start to finish for this new experience. The participants commented that they had a truly amazing day and that it was an especially rare opportunity for them to have the chance to go out as a family, making it a truly happy memory.
While this was Nitto’s first year as title sponsor, our efforts were a success thanks to the cooperation of a great many friends and associates. Nitto celebrates its Centennial Anniversary in 2018 and the company’s activities will continue to evolve as we strengthen our global brand and tie our efforts to the creation of new innovation.
