Report on the Nitto ATP Finals Charity Programs

Nitto Denko Corporation (Headquarters: Osaka, Japan; President, CEO & COO: Hideo Takasaki; “Nitto”, hereafter) invited young patients battling serious diseases from England’s most prominent children’s hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital (“GOSH”, hereafter) to watch tennis players compete to become world champions over the two days of Sunday, November 11 and Monday, November 12. Approximately 90 people, including the children, their parents, and care staff, were invited to the Nitto ATP Finals as part of Nitto’s activities in sponsoring the Nitto ATP Finals, the season finale of the ATP World Tour. This was the second charity activity for GOSH and this year, Nitto expanded its activities to provide the GOSH Charity Auction with paired general seating tickets for six people in three pairs to the final match of the Nitto ATP Finals.

Based on its concept of “We are always cheering for people who take on challenges”, Nitto engaged in these efforts with the hope of “helping bring smiles to faces by having people watch players as they take on the challenge of becoming champion”.
The seats provided an extraordinary experience for the children fighting against their diseases to watch the matches in a relaxed atmosphere with their families as they drew inspiration from the competing players. Smiles lit up the faces of the children from start to finish as they took pleasure in this experience that differed so greatly from that in the hospital. The participants happily commented that, “thoroughly enjoyed the day and it will be a really important memory to hold onto forever”.

Nitto’s activities this year as title sponsor coincided with a commemorative year for the company in which it marks its 100th anniversary. For the next 100 years, Nitto will strive to become a company that contributes to better lifestyles and a better society.
