The Nitto ATP Finals charitable activities in support of UNICEF

Nitto Denko Corporation (HQ: Osaka; President: Hideo Takasaki; hereinafter “Nitto”) engaged in various charitable activities at the 2019 Nitto ATP Finals, which took place from Sunday, November 10 to Sunday, November 17, 2019. Nitto supported the United Nations Children's Fund (hereinafter “UNICEF”), through UNICEF UK under the concept of cheering on all children who strive for the future. Nitto helped to raise donations at their corporate booths. In addition, Nitto group employees supported the cause by raising donations and contributing directly to UNICEF.

Nitto’s Donation to UNICEF

Nitto and Nitto group employees who supported the charity partnership donated GBP£33,574 to UNICEF, which was divided across two vital UNICEF program areas: “Water, Sanitation and Hygiene(WASH)*1” and “Health*2”.

*1:About UNICEF’s Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) work
The ultimate aim of UNICEF’s work in water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) is to ensure that all children have the right to access clean water and basic sanitation, and that no child is left behind. UNICEF’s WASH team works in over 100 countries worldwide with governments, local implementation partners and other UN bodies to improve water and sanitation services, as well as basic hygiene practices.

*2:About UNICEF’s Health work
UNICEF envisions a world where no child dies from a preventable disease and all children reach their full potential in health and well-being. UNICEF has an extensive global health presence, and strong partnerships with governments and non-governmental organizations at national and community levels. On a daily basis, UNICEF works to defend the rights of children and help them fulfill their potential.

Fundraising activities at the Nitto booths

Throughout the tournament, Nitto had two different exhibition spaces including photo booths with replicas of the tournament singles and doubles trophies. A total of 19,000 people visited and experienced these interactive activities, with Nitto receiving donations in two exhibition spots. The support was fantastic and thanks to everyone’s cooperation, we were able to raise GBP£3,616 for UNICEF through this activity.
