Ray Diffusion Structure for Millimeter Waves Nitto Ray Diffusion Structure: Nitto RDS

This design technology can solve the issues of high reflection and cost, while providing the same level of transmitting attenuation as radar absorbing material(RAM) used for corner radar bracket.

By providing a special surface structure to general plastics, the reflected(S11) and transmitted(S21) radio waves are attenuated by diffusion. The Ray Diffusion Structure(RDS) is superior in terms of cost performance, because the material can achieve high attenuation characteristics without using RAM or microwave absorber sheet.

Applications

• RDS helps to eliminate ghosting and angular misalignment caused by reflected waves from the vehicle's bumpers, which can be an issue when millimeter wave radar is mounted on a vehicle.
        Application: 77~79GHz Corner Radar, 60GHz In-vehicle Radar

Features

• Both reflection and transmission diffusion are possible: The special surface shape of the material scatters reflected noise waves and diffuses transmitted noise waves, resulting in an attenuation effect.
