Support for the Down Syndrome Association in Turkey

On November 13, 2019, Nitto Bento Bantcilik San. ve Tic. A.S. visited the Turkiye Down Sendromu Dernegi (Down Syndrome Association), a social welfare facility in Istanbul, donated TRY 6,250 (approximately JPY 120,000), and deepened the exchange with facility users through activity and more.

Charity Work in Chesapeake, Virginia

Every year, the Nitto, Inc. Chesapeake Plant provides educational support to schools with a large number of students who are facing financial hardship. The company also donated a large number of school supplies in 2019, which included items donated by employees.
Furthermore, on December 6, the company assisted in a Christmas charity event held by Home Instead, a local charity organization. Gifts were donated to nursing home residents based on their wish lists.

Food Drive for Families in Need in Michigan

The Novi Office of Nitto Denko Automotive, Inc. has cooperated since 2009 in the food drive* held by local welfare organization Gleaner Community Food Pantry in Oakland County, Michigan, and on December 1, 2019, it made a donation equivalent to 505 meals. Every year, a large volume of food is provided by employees, with over 3,300 meals having been donated over 11 years.

*Food drive: A form of charity in which people bring extra food from their homes to be donated to local welfare organizations and food banks

Christmas Gifts Donated to U.S. Military Families

Hydranautics, Nitto Denko Technical Corp., and Kinovate Life Sciences, Inc. gave Christmas gifts of toys, clothes, and more to military families in the local San Diego area of California in 2019. These efforts are conducted annually through Spirit of Sharing, an NPO that supports military families in need of assistance. In 2019, which was the fourth year participating, the companies provided a total of USD 3,000 (approximately JPY 330,000) worth of donations.

Toyohashi “Year-End Cooperation Campaign”

Over the two days of December 11 and 18, 2019, labor and management at the Nitto Toyohashi Plant worked together to raise money, and the JPY 210,655 raised was donated to Social Welfare Corporation Iwasaki Gakuen and Public Interest Incorporated Foundation Toyohashi Zeni Bank. The donated money will be used to support child welfare facilities, single-mother homes, families with someone with a disability, etc. prepare for entering school, advancing to the next stage of education, and more.
On December 18, children from Iwasaki Gakuen were invited to participate in the mochi pounding event.
