The Company:

Kinovate Life Sciences Inc. (KLS) is the leading manufacturer of Nittophase® and Nittophase® HL products, the leading solid support for oligonucleotide synthesis. We are currently seeking an outstanding individual to join our team as Research Associate/Senior Research Associate. The ideal candidate for this position will have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry (or a related discipline, with synthetic chemistry experience). The incumbent in this position will be trained for all production activities at KLS including, but not limited to, raw material procurement as well as planning, scheduling, and execution of production. Directly reporting to the Senior Scientist and working with the QA/QC team, this position will also ensure all non-GMP production processes as well as new ligand conjugations are optimized, executed, and documented accurately according to the established procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintaining high level of productivity in the laboratory setting
• Plan, schedule, and execute the production of loaded-NittoPhase® solid support
• Provide support to improve the current process of loading NPHL and NP to streamline and/or cut cost of manufacturing
• Optimize non-GMP production process for new ligands per customers’ specifications
• Strong ability to work effectively with a diverse team of co-workers
• Complete manufacturing documentation per approved procedures and their reviewing for completeness and accuracy per established timelines
• Participation in GMP production of NittoPhase® and NittoPhase® HL loaded solid support as needed
• Cleaning and maintenance of all production equipment
• Ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed
• Act as qualified trainer for process equipment
• Other duties as assigned or identified

Requirements:

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in (organic) Chemistry with 0-3 years of industrial experience (Research Associate) or 3+ years of relevant synthetic or medicinal chemistry experience (Senior Research Associate) OR;
• A minimum of a Master’s Degree in synthetic organic chemistry or medicinal chemistry,
• Strong background in organic and analytical chemistry
• Working experience in cGMP environment is preferred
• Must have excellent and proven skills in planning, organizing, negotiating, and time-managing
• Able to attend to detail and act decisively
• Familiarity with production equipment including reactors, stirrer, vacuum pumps, and vacuum ovens
• Capable of safely lifting equipment up to 50 pounds
• Skilled and experienced in handling several projects at once; track record of effectively moving projects forward and ensuring delivery on time and within budget
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Must have excellent interpersonal, written, oral presentation, and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Physical Job Requirements:

Office/Lab environment. Lifting to 50 pounds may be required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use their hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone keypad or to write, as well as talk and hear. They are required to stand, walk, or sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
