In fiscal year 2022, the Nitto Group established a recognition scheme for products and services that contribute to the environment and human society. By visualizing these contributions and recognizing those with particularly high impact as PlanetFlags™/HumanFlags™, the Nitto Group demonstrate our commitment to material issues for sustainability (materiality).
Background/Objectives
The Nitto Group places ESG at the core of its management and aims for all of its products to be “essential", contributing positively to the environment and human society.
The PlanetFlags™/HumanFlags™ recognition scheme supports Nitto Group’s efforts to address material issues for sustainability (materiality). Products are assessed using Nitto’s own criteria from two perspectives – environmental impact and societal impact – and those with outstanding contributions are recognized as PlanetFlags™ or HumanFlags™.
These recognition standards will also guide future development priorities. By focusing resources on projects likely to qualify for PlanetFlags™ or HumanFlags™, the Group aims to speed up both social problem-solving and economic value creation through its business.
Recognition Standards
PlanetFlags™/HumanFlags™ are awarded based on four key criteria: problem-solving ability, necessity, leadership, and empathy.
